The new Harvest Laconiko EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL is also High Phenolic. The new harvest 2021-2022 is now also certified. It joins OLIO NUOVO in increasing its phenolic concentration despite the difficult season.

This year LACONIKO goes an extra step and present the phenolic analysis by the 3 popular methods being used today. The differences are being exposed. Until the IOC and the national Food Safety Agencies decide to ratify the most accurate method instead of the most convenient method of analyzing the concentration of phenolic compounds, confusion, adulteration and mislabeling will continue.

The qNMR (quantitative Nuclear Magnetic Resonance) method of phenolic analysis is the only method that is capable of measuring each phenolic compound quantitatively and therefore the concentration without the need for standards of the pure phenolic compounds or the use of Gallic acid or Tyrosol "equivalents". 

The qNMR analysis accurately analyzes the actual phenolic compounds and their concentration. The resistance to this method of analysis from the Olive Oil Industry is based on the fear of transparency. The olive oil industry led by the IOC and the National Food Safety agencies reject transparency. They want to maintain the status quo. It has served them well, to the detriment of buyers and consumers like you.
