Awarded Olives 2021

High Phenolic Olive Aristoleo Awards 2021

6th Annual ARISTOLEO AWARDS 2021,

“AGE OF TRANSPARENCY”

High Phenolic Olive Awards

1st Year in North America!

THE FIRST RESULTS FOR HIGH PHENOLIC OLIVES ARE IN!

Our global initiative to promote high phenolic table olives begins in Toronto Canada.

We will travel from one country to another and from continent to continent every year.

We will be publishing the results for Aristoleo Awards 2021 as they come in.

The ARISTOLEO AWARDS are based on measuring the phenolic content of the olives. The higher the phenolic content the less olives you need to consume to achieve a health benefit.

In preliminary clinical trials it has been shown in human volunteers that as little as 5 olives a day may lower bad cholesterol.

DOUBLE GOLD AWARD

DOUBLE GOLD ARISTOLEO AWARD 2021

 2100 μg/g Tyrosol + Hydroxytyrosol

The levels of tyrosol are higher than the average values of commercial olives samples (134 μg/g)that were included in the study performed at the University of Athens and published in J. Agric. Food Chem. 2010, 58, 4650. Oleuropein was not detected (<5 μg/g).

It should be noted that hydroxytyrosol and tyrosol present important biological activity and they have been related with antioxidant and cardioprotective activity.

Daily consumption of 2-3 gr of the olives of this sample offers >5 mg of hydroxytyrosol and tyrosol and corresponds to the consumption of 20 gr of olive oil belonging to the oil category that protect the blood lipids from oxidative stress, according to the EU regulation 432/2012.
